De Pere, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball suffered a long scoring drought in the first half and it was more than enough for St. Norbert College in a 73-46 loss in De Pere on Monday night.
The game was a make-up from a snowout that happened on December 9.
SNC scored the first eight points of the game before Beloit rebounded with a 7-2 run that made it a three-point game at 10-7 with 12:42 left in the first half.
The Green Knights then put together a 20-0 run over the next five minutes that put the Buccaneers in a 27-7 hole they never recovered from. A free throw by Derek Carrier stopped the run.
St. Norbert led 35-15 at the break.
The teams played even basketball for much of the second half before a closing spurt by SNC made for the largest lead of the night and the final score.
David Bremner and Travis Towns each scored nine to lead Beloit while Carrier, Patrick Kenny and Michael Horton added eight apiece.
The Buccaneers are now off until Saturday afternoon when they host Carroll University in a 4:00 p.m. game at Flood Arena.
