Bucs Second-Half Comeback Falls Short

Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team couldn't make enough of a comeback and Knox College closed out the game with a run as the Bucs fell 71-63 in Galesburg, Illinois, on Saturday.

With Beloit winning 15-14 at the 10:57 mark of the first half Knox went on a 27-9 run to close out the half, taking a 41-24 advantage into the lockerroom.

The Prairie Fire built their biggest lead of bthe game at 47-26 with 16:26 remaining before the Buccaneers put together a 27-9 run of their own to pull within 56-53 with 5:58 left.

thye Bucs grabbed a one-point 60-59 lead at the 3:29 mark but KC closed out the game on a 12-3 run for the win.

Derek Carrier scored 15 to lead Beloit while Travis Towns added 14. David Bremner had 11 and Patrick Kenny ten.

The Buccaneers continue their early-season Midwest Conference road trip when they play at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, on Wednesday night. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
