The Beloit College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is sponsoring Sexual Assault Prevention Week on campus for the week of December 1-8.
The goal of SAAC is to increase awareness and prevention of sexual assault, which affects one in every six women and one in every 33 men during their lifetimes. College-age women are four times more likely than the average female to be sexually assaulted.
Working with the Sexual Assault Recovery Program )SARP) of Rock County, SAAC is helping to support the cause through the sale of sexual assault prevention t-shirts at the next three Buccaneer Men’s and Women’s Basketball games as well as accepting free will donations at the games.
The Buccaneers host Monmouth College on Friday night, December 3, with the Women tipping off at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday the teams host Illinois College. The Women’s game begins at 2:00 p.m. The Bucs then host St. Norbert College on Wednesday, December 8, with the Women’s game starting at 5:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the t-shirt sales and free will offering go to SARP’s prevention efforts and educational programs for public schools in the Beloit area.
