Chicago, IL -- The Beloit College Baseball team brought in three more individual honors to wrap up their 2011 season, placing three players on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Central Region Team.  The squad was released on Monday afternoon.

Junior pitcher Alex Norman earned First Team honors; senior Utility player Mike Kovach was a Second Team pick; and junior Third Baseman Jordan Jaenicke grabbed Third Team mention to represent the Bucs.

The three honorees are the most since Beloit placed four on the All-Central Region squad following the 2009 season.  Under head coach Dave DeGeorge, who just completed his 21st season, the Buccaneers have now had ten players honored.

Norman, from Elburn, Illinois (Kaneland), established himself as the ace of the staff this season.  He closed the regular season with a 7-2 record, tying him for the most wins in a single-season, and a 2.55 ERA, the fifth-best mark in Beloit history.  He also has a better than 4 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio, having fanned 42 while walking just 11 in 67 innings.  He led the MWC in wins, ERA and innings pitched.  He earned MWC First Team honors this season.

Kovach, from Plainfield, Illinois (Joliet Catholic), hit .312 during the season with a team-leading totals of 33 runs scored and 13 stolen bases and 31 RBIs, second on the squad.  During his senior season he set seven Beloit career records, including hits, runs, total bases and stolen bases.  He was an All-MWC First Team selection this season as well as in 2009.

Jaenicke, from Bourbonnais, Illinois (Bishop McNamara), led the Buccaneers regulars with a .357 average and 34 RBIs in 2011.  He also led the team in slugging percentage at .516 and on-base percentage at .500 while stealing six bases and hitting 11 doubles, second on the team.
