The Beloit College Baseball team has captured its first-ever Midwest Conference North Division Championship and will host the MWC Baseball Tournament this Friday and Saturday at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium.
The Bucs won the title after St. Norbert College and Ripon College split their four-game MWC series over the weekend. St. Norbert swept the doubleheader on Sunday in De Pere to give Beloit the crown.
The Buccaneers will play Monmouth College, the second-place team in the South Division, on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Grinnell College, the South Division Champion, will play Ripon at Pohlman Field at 9:00 a.m.
The winners of the first two games will face off at The Ballpark at 1:00 p.m. while the losers will play and elimination game at 4:00 p.m., also at The Ballpark.
On Saturday morning, The winner of game four will play the loser of game three in an elimination game. The winner of that game advances to the Championship Game against the winner of Friday's third game. If neccesary, a second Championship Game will be played at 4:00 p.m.
The winner of the MWC Tournament receives the Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins on May 18.
