We expect to conduct Beloit College’s Division III athletics programs consistent with NCAA and the Midwest Conference’s best practices and guidelines.

The priority will be on the health and safety of student-athletes and how that impacts their communities, mitigating their virus risks through hygiene and regular health screening.

On July 27, the Midwest Conference announced it is suspending all league competition through Dec. 31. The conference joins a growing number of NCAA Division III conferences and schools that have suspended fall and winter sports. On August 5, the NCAA Division III Presidents Council announced the cancellation of all fall championships.

While necessary for safety, we know this announcement is greatly disappointing to all of our student-athletes, as well as to our entire campus community, who looked forward to cheering our Buccaneers from the stands.

To our student-athletes, we say: We are committed to harnessing the Buc spirit with creative approaches to provide meaningful experiences for you, your teammates, and coaches this fall. It will be different, but we are confident in both coaches and players to keep the Beloit spirit alive.

Midwest Conference competition is an integral part of the Beloit experience, and we look forward to its return as soon as it is safe to do so.
