Netters Fall to Monmouth

The Beloit College women's tennis team wrapped up a weekend of games with a 6-3 loss to Monmouth College Sunday afternoon at the Strong Complex tennis courts.

2. Priya Heinen (BC) def. McKenzie DeVilder (MC) 7-6(7-4), 2-6, 10-2
3. Bailey Ekstrand (BC) def. Haley Johnston (MC) 6-4, 7-5
4. Rachel Leifheit (MC) def. Emma Hahn (BC) 6-1, 2-6, 6-3
5. Natalie Curtis (MC) def. Makayla Jo Zundel (BC) 6-4, 6-3
6. Maria Bieberitz (BC) def. Lexi Tibbs (MC) 6-4, 7-5

Doubles
1. Johanns/DeVilder (MC) def. Heinen/Lamphere (BC 8-1
2. Leifheit/Curtis (MC) def. Hahn/Ekstrand (BC) 8-3
3. Johnston/Tibbs (MC) def. Bieberitz/Kelly (BC) 8-4

Ekstrand is now 2-0 at No. 3 singles while Heinen picks up her first win at No. 2 singles. Bieberitz is unbeaten with a 3-0 record at No. 6 singles on the season.

The Buccaneers will be back in action September 15 with a pair of games at the Strong tennis courts. The Bucs will host Grinnell at 9 a.m. followed by a 3 p.m. matchup with Cornell.
