Beloit Can't Finish Off IC After Best Doubles All Season

Jacksonville, Ill. -- In the final match of the season, Beloit showed tremendous grit and had their best doubles showing of the season against MWC foe Illinois College.

Unfortunately, the Bucs were unable to wrap up their win, falling to IC 5-4. The loss drops Beloit to 0-15 Overall, 0-9 MWC. Illinois College moves to 5-8 Overall, and 2-6 in MWC play. 

Meghan Davis and Priya Heinen won their singles pairings against Lisa Noggle (6-2)(6-2) and Ariel Rhoades (6-0)(6-2). 

In doubles is where the Bucs made their most concentrated effort - winning two and coming within a hair of the final match. 

Kiri Youngquist and Meghan Davis defeated Sally Hixson and Lisa Noggle (8-5). Priya Heinen and Emma Hahn defeated Ariel Rhoades and Lena Reed (8-1). 

In the 3rd and final doubles of regular season play, Kalisa Goertz and Madelyn Deardorff of IC defeated the Bucs Hayden Lamphere and Rose Williams (8-3). 

The Bucs will head to Madison to compete in the singles/doubles MWC tournament this coming weekend, the 14th and 15th.
