Beloit, WI -- In the second match of the day, Beloit dropped an MWC decision to Lawrence University 8-1.
It was an extremely long day for the Bucs, having previously faced Ripon College at 9 AM this morning. The heat rose to the mid 90's, and it showed on the courts, after a long day at Strong Stadium. The Vikings and Bucs were slated to start the match at 4 PM, and didn't finish until after 7.
Meghan Davis went the distance for the Bucs, and pushed her singles match-up against the Vikings Annie Harincar to the edge, and won (7-5)(6-6)(7-1).
Priya Heinen pushed her singles matchup to the tie-breaker as well, falling to the Vikings Katie Nottberg (6-4)(4-6)(10-5).
The rest of the singles matchups went to Lawrence, as they won 5 of the 6 games.
In doubles, Hayden Lamphere and Meghan Davis came close to defeating their pairing of Lindsay Holsen and Katie Nottberg, falling (8-5).
The two other doubles matches both went to Lawrence, as Harincar and El Goblirsch defeated Hahn and Heinen 8-4, and Lindsey Lucas / Alexis Shannon defeated the Bucs Kelly and Williams 8-4.
Once again, the Buccaneers Tennis team are endurance warriors. They have a quick turnaround, and host the Green Knights of Saint Norbert tomorrow at 3 PM.
