Bucs Face Two In Iowa, Come Up Short

September 9, 2017

Mt. Vernon, IA -- Beloit hit the road for a tough test, facing both Cornell College and Grinnell College in a back-to-back matchup.

In the game against Cornell, Meghan Davis once again showed grit and determination, pushing her singles matchup against Abbey Nelson to the edge. She eventually fell (6-2)(7-5).

Also in singles, Priya Heinen and Emma Hahn were able to score against the tough rackets of Cornell College, both falling (6-1)(6-1)

In doubles, Hayden Lamphere and Meghan Davis once again proved to be a reliable pair, as they were the only Buc grouping to score against Cornell. They ended up falling to Julia Thome and Raquel Ruiz 8-1.

In the second game against a tough Grinnell College squad, Beloit fell 0-9.

In singles, Lamphere, Davis, Heinen, and Rose Williams were able to score a point against the Pioneers, but unfortunately fell (6-1)(6-0), respectively.

While Grinnell won all three doubles matchups, two Buccaneer pairings were able to score points. Heinen and Hahn, and Williams and Jaime Kelly all registered a point in their matchups.

Beloit will return home to the friendly confines of the Strong Stadium Tennis Courts on Monday, facing off against the Marian University Sabres at 4 PM.
