Beloit, WI -- The Men's and Women's Soccer Goalies, Senior Jere Bauer and Freshman Connor Keegan-Lloyd swept the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of The Week awards this week.
Senior Jere Bauer:
Bauer played a total of 124 minutes this week, 34 against Rockford University and the full 90 against Illinois Institute of Technology, letting in zero goals. Against IIT, he faced 22 total shots, 10 on goal, making ten saves, including a close-range tip over the bar with three minutes left to preserve the shutout.
Freshman Connor Keegan-Lloyd:
In two matches this week, Connor Keegan-Lloyd made 17 saves and allowed just one goal as the Bucs won both matches. At Edgewood College on Wednesday, she made seven saves and earned the first shut-out of the season for Beloit.
Against Marian University on Saturday, Keegan-Lloyd made 10 saves, and allowed one goal, which was on a penalty kick. She made pivotal saves late in the game when Marian had a huge possession swing, including a 1-on-1 tip over the cross-bar at the very end of the game, which made two stops in 30 seconds for the freshman goalie.
Congratulations to both goalies for recognition of a hard week of work!
Both the Men's and Women's teams currently sit at 3-4 overall. They are on the road together this weekend, facing Grinnell College on the 23rd, and Knox College on the 24th.
