Beloit senior Genesis Dade notched two goals and first-year Midori Tanada added a third in the Buccaneers’ 5-3 loss to UW-Platteville on the road Saturday afternoon.
The first minute of the game was a flurry of action as the Pioneers notched the first goal of the game just 24 seconds in. Dade would tally the equalizer at the 59 second mark.
The teams continued to press offensively, peppering the opposing goal with shots but none broke through until Dade beat the keeper for her second goal of the game in the 42nd minute to give the Bucs a 2-1 lead.
Three goals in a ten-minute span in the second half gave UW-P the lead back 4-2 but the Bucs weren’t done. Courtney Ceurvorst found Tanada who beat the keeper with a header goal in the 59th minute to pull Beloit within one, 4-3.
A late goal in the 89th minute for the Pioneers wrapped up the scoring.
Buccaneer keeper Connor Keegan-Lloyd made five saves in the first half in the loss.
Beloit returns to action September 11 with a road game against North Park University at Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago, Illinois. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
