Beloit, WI -- In what has become a common theme this fall, poor weather rolled into Beloit just in time for today's non-conference match between North Park University and Beloit College.
The Bucs would not be swayed by the rain and wind, as they battled back and forth with the Vikings for 90 minutes, and came up with a 2-2 tie in regulation. With less than 5 minutes into first overtime, junior Candace Cunningham buried an in close shot off an assist from Rachel Cook to finish the game, winning 3-2.
The Bucs would start the scoring in this afternoon's game, as Lexi Miller scored on the 18th minute, from Courtney Ceurvorst.
North Park would answer back quickly, and go up 1 leading 2-1 going into the half.
Beloit would come out of the first 45 minutes reorganized, and fired up. Hannah Metcalfe through her entire body into a great cross from Rachel Cook (her first assist of two on the afternoon) and headed in the Bucs 2nd goal of the afternoon.
Metcalfe would tie it up at the 56th minute, and neither team would be able to find the back of the net again until Cunningham won the game in OT.
In net for the Bucs, Connor Keegan-Lloyd was busy, but would make sure that the seniors would leave their last home game at Strong Stadium on a high note. Keegan-Lloyd finished with 11 saves in just over 100 minutes of action, while allowing 2 goals.
In net for the Vikings, Sydney Martinez made 4 saves and finished with 3 goals on the afternoon.
Beloit has one more opportunity to end the season on a high note, as they travel to Lawrence University to wrap up the year next week.
