Beloit, WI -- After a scoreless first half, the visiting Redhawks put two past the Buccaneers back-line, leaving Strong Stadium with a valuable Midwest Conference Win, with the final score Ripon 2, Beloit 1.
Coming out of the break, ever present forward Genesis Dade put one in the back of the net from in close, to put the Bucs up 1-0. Building off momentum from the first half of play, as well as Dade's goal, the game was surely flowing optimistically Beloit's way.
However, Ripon would be quick to answer, as Meghan McCarthy would retaliate with a high chip over Buc GK Connor Keegan-Lloyd to even the score only 2 minutes later.
Offensively for the Bucs, Dade, junior Courtney Ceurvorst, and junior Candace Cunningham led the way, with 6 shots (Dade), 3 shots (Ceurvorst), and 3 shots (Cunningham). Dade and Ceurvorst led the Bucs shooters with 3 shots a piece on frame.
At the 62nd minute, Ripon would bury the game winner, as Brianna Schnell beat freshman GK Keegan-Lloyd near post to finish the game.
In net, Keegan-Lloyd went the full 90 minutes, registering 5 saves while allowing 2 goals. For the Redhawks, Aoki-Kramer finished with 8 saves, 1 goal allowed.
Beloit falls to 3-8 Overall, and 0-4 in MWC play. The Bucs have a quick turnaround, as they are back on the home pitch, hosting an out-of-conference game against the Central College Dutch on Sunday. Match is scheduled to begin 3 PM.
