Bucs Can't Overcome Early Goal By Rams

October 1, 2017

Beloit, WI -- A goal at the 25th minute by Cornell Ram Lindsay Smith was all that was needed to seal the win for the visitors, as Beloit fell to Cornell 1-0 in MWC play at Strong Stadium.

The Bucs would near their total shots in a contest this season, out shooting the Rams 20-13. Both teams had difficulty finding the frame, with 6 shots on goal for the Bucs to 8 shots on goal for the Rams.

Genesis Dade and Courtney Ceurvorst played to their normal level, totaling 5 and 6 shots, respectively. Dade finished with 2 on frame to Ceurvorst's 1.

Freshman goalie Connor Keegan-Lloyd went the distance in net again, and backstopped a brilliant effort by the Buccaneer defense. Keegan-Lloyd finished the 90 minutes of action with 7 saves, while allowing only the 1 goal.

In net for the Rams was Nell Rosenthal, who also went the total 90 minutes from start to finish. Rosenthal finished with 6 saves, while not allowing a goal.

The Bucs are back at home on Thursday, as they host MWC foe Ripon College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM.
