Buccaneers Fight Back Late to Force OT but Settle for Tie in Final Game of 2016

October 29, 2016

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team came from two goals down late but couldn't net the game-winner as they settled for a 2-2 tie with Lawrence University in the season finale at the Strong Complex Soccer Field Saturday.

After a scoreless opening half the Vikings struck twice within a five-minute span to take a 2-0 lead.  They held that advantage for over 20 minutes before Courtney Ceurvorst cut the deficit in half at 75:12.  Just over two minutes later Mikino Kumagai tied the match off an assist from Ceurvorst.

That assist tied Ceurvorst for the Beloit career record of 18 assists with Anna Hughes (1989-92).  She had earlier broken the single-season assist mark and finished 2016 with 12.

Tegan Rock, making her first appearance in goal for the Buccaneers, made 11 saves in goal.

Emma Schroer and Alesia Hunter made their final appearance for the Bucs.
