Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team worked overtime on Tuesday night to score their first victory of the season, a 2-1 two-overtime win over Edgewood College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Bre Partida headed in a corner kick from Tegan Rock with 3:19 left in the second overtime for her first collegiate goal to give the Bucs just their second win in 14 all-time matches against the Eagles.
Edgewood struck first 19 minutes into the game off a corner kick and held that lead into halftime. Candace Cunningham evened it at 1-all at the 51:24 mark when she got the ball on her foot just past midfield and went all the way to the net, scoring into the left side of the goal.
Both teams had opportunities over the final 38-plus minutes of regulation and thru the first 10-minute overtime. As it got darker and the time ticked away in the second OT Rock sent the ball from the left corner, finding Partida on the right side of the goal, where she tapped it in.
Olivia Nasatir earned her first collegiate win in net, making five saves, four of them in the second half. Edgewood held the edge on shots 16-12 and on corners 15-3.
Beloit looks to continue their momentum on Saturday in their final game before Midwest Conference play begins, traveling to Illinois Tech for a 1:00 p.m. match.
