Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team completed a busy first four days of their 2016 season on Sunday with their home opener, falling to Bethany Lutheran College on a goal in the final 15 minutes 2-1.
The Vikings jumped on top just over three minutes into the game and held that lead for 28 minutes before Courtney Ceurvorst, off an assist from Bre Partida, evened the score at the 31:50 mark.
Both teams had opportunities into halftime and well into the second half before BLC finally broke thru with just over 14 minutes remaining in regulation. The Buccaneers kept pushing until they finally ran out of time.
Olivia Nasatir made five saves in goal for Beloit. Bethany Lutheran held the advantage in shots 15-11 but the Buccaneers had a 9-4 edge in corner kicks.
Back on Saturday, Beloit fell at Marian University in Fond du Lac 3-0 as the Sabres scored once in the first half and twice in the second. MU held the Bucs to just one shot on goal.
The Buccaneers look to turn the tide on Wednesday at the Strong Complex Field when they host Lakeland College in a 4:30 p.m. game.
