Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team saw former-Midwest Conference foe Carroll University score three times in the second half as they dropped their season-opener 4-1 Thursday night.
The Pioneers had the lone goal of the first half with 10:19 left before the break and then added back-to-back goals in a 5:10 span of the second half - at 52:42 and 57:52 - to move up 3-0.
Tegan Rock got the Buccaneers' first goal of the season at 61:14, assisted by Courtney Ceurvorst, to cut the deficit to 3-1. But CU made the final score with just under eight minutes left.
Olivia Nasatir made three saves in goal for the Bucs in her first collegiate action. Carroll had a 13-4 advantage on shots and had eight corner kicks to Beloit's one.
The Buccaneers look to regroup on Saturday at Marian University in a 12 noon game and then host Bethany Lutheran College at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in their home opener.
