Grinnell, IA -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team saw their slim but alive postseason hopes disappear on Saturday in a 2-0 loss at Grinnell College.
The Buccaneers needed a series of favorable results to happen in order to earn the final spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament, most important of which was a victory over the Pioneers.
But GC spoiled all that, scoring at 26:51 of the opening half and adding insurance at the 61:38 mark while shutting down Beloit.
The defensive battle saw only 13 shots total, with the Bucs getting six, five of them on goal. Corner kicks were even at 2-apiece. Haylee Irwin made three saves in net for the Buccaneers.
Beloit finished the season sixth in the Midwest Conference , their best finish since they finished sixth in 2007.
