Shutout Keeps Buccaneer Women's Soccer on the Edge of Race for MWC Tourney

Mt. Vernon, IA -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team is in full postseason push mode heading into the final week of the regular season.  That push kept some momentum with a 3-0 shutout at Cornell College on Saturday.

Genesis Dade got things rolling with her 13th goal of the season, assisted by Rylie Partin and tied for the fourth-most in Beloit history, at the 28:25 mark, a 1-0 lead Beloit held at the break.

Heather Metcalfe scored her first career goal six minutes into the second half before Sarah Farr closed out the scoring, assisted by Courtney Ceurvorst, with 10 minutes remaining.

Haylee Irwin posted her second shutout of the season for the win in net with nine saves.  CC had 15 shots to the Bucs' 14 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Buccaneers continue their push in the home finale Wednesday when they take on Carroll University at the Strong Complex Field.  Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
