Buccaneers Put In Extra Work for First MWC Win

September 27, 2015

Monmouth, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team certainly didn't mind the extra time they had to play to score a 3-2 overtime win at Monmouth College Saturday.

Genesis Dade, off an assist from Tegan Rock, scored two minutes into the second 10 minute overtime period to give the Bucs their first Midwest Conference victory of the season.  It was their third win in the last five matches.

Dade put Beloit on top three-plus minutes into the match, assisted by Jordyn Murch, before Murch made it 2-0, assisted by Alexis Miller, at 25:48.  That lead held until Monmouth got on the board at 60:36.  The Fighting Scots forced extra time with under two minutes left in regulation, setting the stage for Dade's late heroics.

Monmouth held a slim 9-8 shots advantage and had seven corner kicks to the Bucs' three.  Haylee Irwin made five saves in net for the win.

Beloit steps away from MWC play on Wednesday night, playing at North Park University at 7:00 p.m.
