Three Bucs Earn All-MWLC Recognition

Three Buccaneers on the women’s lacrosse squad have been named to the 2018 All-Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference teams including Morgan Nicholson with first team honors, Nicole Dolcimascolo was selected honorable mention and Seva Poitevin was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Nicholson, a first-year student-athlete from Longwood, California, led the team in goals, points, caused turnovers and draw controls. In 15 games played at the attack position, Nicholson tallied 46 goals, the most by a freshman in the league, tied for sixth-most by all players in the MWLC and ranked fourth in the Beloit College record book for goals in a season. Her 53 points this season is third-most by a Buccaneer in program history. Nicholson led the league in free position goals with 15 on 27 opportunities. In her freshman campaign, Nicholson registered 62 ground ball, ranked seventh in the conference this season and the second-most posted in a season in BC history. With 45 caused turnovers in 2018, Nicholson overtook the top spot in in the program record book for turnovers caused in a season.

Dolcimascolo, a sophomore from Redding, Connecticut, also wrote her name in the Beloit College record books. She started all 17 games for the Bucs this season leading the squad with 65 ground ball, the most recorded by a Buccaneer in a season in program history. Dolcimascolo posted the second-best total of free position goals with 14, just behind Nicholson to lead the league. The midfielder also caused 37 turnovers this season to move into the number two spot in the program record book. Dolcimascolo was an All-MWLC Second Team selection a year ago.

Poitevin, a first-year student-athlete from Carbondale, Illinois, was one of just two freshman named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The attacker played in nine games for the Bucs this season.
