Beloit, WI – After a national search, Beloit College has named Sammi Reiter as its head Women’s Lacrosse coach, Director of Athletics & Recreation Tim Schmiechen has announced.
Reiter arrives in Beloit after a season as the head coach at Concordia University Michigan.
A native of Stillwater, Minnesota, she is a 2015 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Entertainment Management.
“I am honored to become the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Beloit College,” said Reiter. “I'm eager to grow the success of the lacrosse program, and become part of the Beloit community. When I first stepped on campus I could tell that Beloit College was a very special and unique place. This school offers high level academics, solid athletic programs, and many more opportunities for students to become well rounded, successful individuals. I am very excited to get started!”
Prior to Concordia Michigan, Reiter was the assistant lacrosse coach at Stillwater Area High School, the head coach for youth girl’s lacrosse in Stillwater and an assistant hockey camp coach at Stillwater High School.
“We are very excited to have Sammi join us,” said Schmiechen. “Her successes with recruiting, passion for the sport, and her belief in a liberal arts education make her a great asset for our department and Beloit College.”
Reiter was a four-year member of both the Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Hockey programs at Concordia Wisconsin. She was a three-year captain for the lacrosse team and a two-year captain in hockey. She was the Women’s Lacrosse MVP two times, All-MWLC First Team twice, including being the league Newcomer of the Year in 2012 and the Offensive Player of the Year in 2014, as well as IWLA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team in 2014. She was named CUW’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2013-14 and received Concordia’s Female Athlete Career Achievement Award in 2015. She is Concordia Women’s Lacrosse’s all-time leader in both career and season goals and points.
