Mequon, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team went into Wednesday's Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game at Concordia University Wisconsin determined to play the spoiler. But CUW would have none of that in an 18-3 win that completed an undefeated league season and clinched the MWLC title, their second straight.
The Falcons took control from the opening draw, scoring the game's first nine goals until Arisbeth Sanchez (Libby Storrick) and Hannah Drexler (Storrick) scored back-to-back at 17:59 and 17:22 to stop the run. Concordia scored the next four goals before Storrick closed the first half, and the Beloit scoring, at the 6:45 mark, making it 13-3.
CUW closed the game with five goals in the second half while shutting down the Buccaneers, who had five shots in the second 20 minutes, four on goal.
Celeste Jenkins made 17 saves in goal, which ties for the second-most in a game in program history, and had three ground balls. Drexler led the team with four ground balls while Storrick had four caused turnovers.
Beloit closes out its season on Sunday at Strong Stadium in the first Senior Day in program history, hosting Wartburg College. The action begins at 3:00 p.m.
