Buccaneers Can't Come Back from First Half Deficit

April 7, 2016

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team couldn't rebound from a big North Central College first half in a 16-4 non-conference loss at Strong Stadium Wednesday night.

After Sara Fithian (Sam Schonberger) got the Buccaneers on the board 25 seconds into the game the Cardinals scored 11 unanswered goals to make it an 11-1 at the half.

The goal run by NCC reached 14 midway through the second half before Hannah Drexler and Schonberger scored back-to-back at 10:30 and 8:28, respectively.  After North Central got one of the goals back Drexler scored her second goal of the game on a free position shot to close out Beloit's scoring.  The Cardinals scored with 28 seconds left for the final score.

Drexler had three ground balls and four caused turnovers to go with her two goals.  Marie Bonine made eight saves in net.

Beloit has a week off before hosting Aurora University at Strong in a 7:00 p.m. Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game.
