Mallory Bahr and Rashad Devoe have been named the new head coach for Buccaneer Women's Lacrosse and Buccaneer Men's Lacrosse, respectively.
Bahr replaces Maggie Zentgraf while Devoe steps in for Bob Dignazio, who both left to pursue other professional opportunities.
Bahr arrives in Beloit as the Buccaneers’ third head Women’s Lacrosse coach in the program’s history after a season as the assistant coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama.
A native of Hartland, Wisconsin, she is a 2014 graduate of North Central College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management.
Prior to Huntingdon, Bahr was the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Camp Towanda in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. She also has several years of coaching at various summer programs as well as serving an internship in the Athletic Department at North Central.
She was a four-year attacker for the Women’s Lacrosse squad at North Central. She played in 49 games for the Cardinals, scoring 56 goals and adding 13 assists in her career.
Devoe comes to Beloit as the second head Men’s Lacrosse coach in the program’s history after two seasons as the assistant Lacrosse coach at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where he helped lead the team to the NESCAC Quarterfinals in both of his seasons.
He was also a two-year assistant Lacrosse coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, helping the team to the SCAC Championship Game in 2013.
A 1996 graduate of the State University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health, he also holds a Masters of Public Health from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania, earned in 2004.
He also has experience as the assistant coach at Dallas Jesuit High School for two seasons, helping to lead the team to a #23 national ranking in 2011; as head coach for the Plano (Texas) Lacrosse Club for three seasons; and as the head coach for Iron Horse Lacrosse Select Travel Teams in Dallas since 2009.
Both teams open their season the weekend of February 20-21, with the Men at Carroll University in Waukesha on Saturday, February 20, and the Women at Augsburg College in Minneapolis to take on both Augsburg and Hamline University.
