Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team finished up the home portion of their schedule Thursday with a 16-6 win over Carroll University at Strong Stadium.
Hannah Drexler put the Bucs on top for good 16 seconds into the game before Michelle Dillon made it 2-0 on a free position goal at 24:27. Carroll scored two of the next three goals, with Dillon getting her second of the game in that span, before Beloit went on a five goal run to close out the half. Drexler started the run, which featured two free position goals by Celeste Jenkins, a score by Casey Ryan and Dillon's third of the half, to take an 8-2 lead into halftime.
Dillon scored her fourth goal less than two minutes into the second half before the Pioneers snapped the run a minute later. Drexler, Dillon, Marci McClenon and Arisbeth Sanchez made it 13-3 with 13:42 remaining. CU stopped the running clock three minutes later but Drexler got it started again at 9:41, followed by two goals from Dillon. Carroll scored twice in the final 12 seconds to close out the scoring.
Marie Bonine had six saves in net, five of them in the second half. Drexler had four draw controls to go with her four goals while Kelley Flint had four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers along with four assists.
The Buccaneers close out the regular season on Sunday at Augsburg College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Action begins at 11:00 a.m.
