Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team got themselves back in the win column Saturday with a 13-4 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference win over Loras College at Strong Stadium.
The Bucs dominated the opening half with 10 goals to the Duhawks two. Michelle Dillon (Libby Storrick) got things rolling less than a minute into the game before Loras tied it just under two minutes later. The Bucs then went on a nine-goal run to take command of the contest, beginning with Arisbeth Sanchez's (Dillon) goal at 24:18. That was followed by scores from Kelley Flint (Hannah Drexler), Dillon (Drexler), Dillon for a third time in the half (Storrick), Flint (free position), Sanchez, Storrick, Sanchez for the third time in the half (Flint), and Casey Ryan before LC ended the run with 1:26 remaining on a free position score. But the Bucs' still had their big lead at the break.
The Duhawks made it two straight scores with a goal 37 seconds into the second half before the Buccaneers finished their scoring with three straight goals from Storrick, Dillon (Flint) and Storrick again. Loras closed out the scoring at the 5:00 mark with their fourth free position goal of the game.
Flint and Storrick added four ground balls to their scoring while Storrick also had six draw controls. Celeste Jenkins made seven saves in net.
Beloit plays at Aurora University in a make-up game at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
