Grinnell, IA -- Laura Panicali, a 5'9 junior guard for the Beloit College Women's Basketball team from Carol Stream, Illinois (West Chicago), has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the week ending November 29. The Conference office announced the honor Monday.
Panicali averaged 25.5 ppg with five rebounds and four assists while shooting 17-of-29 from the field, including 8-of-15 from 3-point, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line in two games last week. She had 24 points in a 78-67 win over Carroll University and 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting in an 82-78 loss to Grinnell College. Panicali canned five from long range in the loss to the Pioneers. For the season she is averaging 19.0 ppg while shooting 54% from the field and 55.6% from 3-point.
The Bucs, 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the MWC, host Lawrence University in Flood Arena on Wednesday night. Action begins at 7:30 p.m.
