Sabres Outlast Bucs In Fond Du Lac

Fond du Lac, WI -- The Bucs traveled to Fond du Lac tonight to take on the Marian University Sabres in a non-conference match. Marian University was able to strike often, and fast, defeating the Bucs 3-1 (29-27)(16-25)(25-21)(25-19).

The Bucs were able to stay close with the Sabres for most of the game, winning set 2 in deciding fashion. Sophomore OH Amanda Baran continued her strong season, with 12 kills and 38 total attack attempts.

Right behind Baran was senior MB Jaylan Dunn, registering 9 kills. Senior Taylor Lewis and Freshman Aryssa Harris followed with 7 and 8 kills, respectively.

Beloit came out on the winning side in the 2nd match, with a score of 25-16. The 2nd set of games this season has been favorable to the Bucs, as Beloit has won 10 compared to opponents 6.

The last two set matches were in Marian's favor, with Beloit staying strong the entire way.

Sophomore Setter Paige Wimbrow has been an assist machine this season for the Bucs, notching 26 against Marian tonight. That 26 brings her season total to just over the four-hundred mark, with 405 assists thus far.

Beloit falls to 5-11 on the season, and will stay busy on the road for the rest of the week. The Bucs will travel to Iowa for a back-to-back weekend, playing Grinnell College on the 6th and Cornell College on the 7th.
