Buccaneer Volleyball Looks to Turn Things Around After Tough Homestand

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team is looking to get their game back on the positive side after a tough four-game homestand, the most match recent a 3-0 Midwest Conference loss to Lawrence University in Flood Arena Tuesday night.

The Vikings won the match 25-14, 25-23, 25-13.

LU jumped out to a 16-5 lead in set one on the way to taking the match lead.  Beloit held a narrow lead in set two before the Vikings closed with a 6-4 run to go up 2-0.  In the final set Lawrence burst away from a 5-5 tie with a 10-4 run and never let the Bucs get closer than four the rest of the way to secure the win.

Taylor Lewis had seven kills, Chloe Fleming six and Jaylan Dunn five to lead the attack.  Paige Wimbrow had 14 set assists.  Abby Gessell paced the defense with 13 digs and Josie Lindsey-Robbins 11.  Molly Muller and Chrissie Clayton each had two block assists while Dunn had a solo and an assist block.

Beloit plays it's next four MWC matches on the road, beginning Friday at Ripon College at 7:00 p.m.
