Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team had no answer for a tough Carroll University squad in a 3-0 defeat Tuesday night in Flood Arena.
The Pioneers took the match 25-9, 25-16, 25-15.
CU raced out to a 12-2 lead in the first set and coasted in for the match lead. In set two the Buccaneers kept battling and were still within 16-13 just past the midway point. But Carroll scored nine of the last 12 points to move up 2-0 in the match. In the final set the Bucs again kept pushing and were still within 15-14 after a Taylor Lewis ace. But, again, the Pioneers scored 10 of the last 11 points to score the match victory.
Jaylan Dunn had six kills to lead the attack while Breea Rogalla had 16 assists. Shelby Strehlow had three aces and Rogalla two. On defense Abby Gessell had 11 digs.
Beloit closes out the Midwest Conference portion of their season on Friday night at Ripon College in a 7:00 p.m. match. They then turn around quickly to finish up their season on Saturday afternoon against Mount Mary University for Senior Day. First serve Saturday is at 1:00 p.m.
