Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team posted their second straight match sweep, topping Mount Mary University 3-0 in Flood Arena on Tuesday night.
The Bucs took the match 25-17, 25-4, 25-17.
Beloit started slowly in the first set before taking charge with an 8-4 run that put them up 16-8. After MMU pulled back within 18-15 the Buccaneers scored seven of the final nine points for the win. Set two was all Bucs. They jumped out to a 9-0 lead with Cheyenne Moffatt serving and coasted in. The final set was somewhat like the first, with the Blue Angels building a very early lead before the Buccaneers charged back, mainly on the strength of a 7-1 run midway through.
Molly Schulting finished with 14 kills and a .478 attack percentage while Jaylan Dunn added seven and Bethany Stavrakas six. For the match Beloit had a .366 attack percentage as a team. Moffatt had 31 assists and Julianne Gruenhagen recorded 15 digs and seven service aces. The seven aces are the second-most in a match since 2008.
Beloit closes out it's home schedule this coming weekend when they host Lawrence University for Senior Night on Friday at 7:00 p.m. before taking on St. Norbert College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
