Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Track & Field team brought home six All-Midwest Conference honors by four student-athletes as the MWC Outdoor Track & Field Championships wrapped up on Saturday.
In the team standings the Women were seventh while the Men were fifth. The fifth-place Men's finish was their highest since the 2006 Championships, when they were also fifth.
Jose Gutierrez led the All-MWC haul with three medals, including winning both the 110m and 400m Hurdles. Gutierrez is the first double-winner in Outdoor Track for the Bucs since Felicia Carlson in 2014 (100m, 200m) and the first Buccaneer Men's Outdoor double-winner since Ibrahima Doumbya won the 100m and Long Jump in 2001.
Also earning All-Conference honors were Aleeshah Heinzen, third in the Long Jump; Jack Klobucar, second in the 800m; and Alberto Torres, second in the 3000m Steeplechase.
Earning points for the Bucs were Linnae Capuder, tied for fourth in the Pole Vault; Dan Arkes, fourth in the 10000m and seventh in the 5000m; Klobucar, fourth in the 1500m; Matthew Miller, fourth in the 110m Hurdles; Jason Dormon, fourth in the High Jump; Heinzen, fifth in the 100m and sixth in the Triple Jump; Ellie Waddle, sixth in the 1500m and seventh in the 800m; Britney Johnson, sixth in the Pole Vault; Dewight Walker, sixth in the Triple Jump; Miranda Simes, seventh in the Pole Vault; Melissa Pelkey, seventh in the 400m; and Dakotah Revai, seventh in the Hammer.
The Women's 4x400m Relay of Waddle, Jourdan Plautz, Sophia Miliotis and Pelkey were fifth; the Women's 4x100m Relay of Plautz, Pelkey, Miliotis and Heinzen was sixth; and both the Men's 4x100m Relay of Gutierrez, Walker, Jake Westrich and Dormon and the Men's 4x400m Relay of Gutierrez, Walker, Klobucar and Westrich were seventh.
