Gutierrez Breaks Three-Week Old 400m Hurdle Record in Final MWC Tune-Up

Dubuque, IA -- The Beloit College Outdoor Track & Field team had their final tune-up before next weekend's Midwest Conference Championships on Friday, competing at the non-team-scoring Loras College Dr. Tucker Open.

Jose Gutierrez broke his own 400m Hurdle record with a second-place :53.41, topping the previous mark of :53.80 he set on April 15 at Benedictine University.

Also turning in top-eight performances for the Bucs were Aleeshah Heinzen, second in the Long Jump and fifth in the Triple Jump; Ellie Waddle, third in the 400m; Jack Klobucar, sixth in the 800m; Matthew Miller, sixth in the 110m Hurdles and tied for sixth in the Pole Vault; and the Women's 4x100m Relay of Jourdan Plautz, Waddle, Sabrina Tumicelli, and Heinzen seventh.

The MWC Meet begins next Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.  The Meet continues Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
