Jacksonville, IL -- The Beloit College Indoor Track & Field team ended their run at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Illinois College with the Men finishing fifth and the Women seventh.
St. Norbert won the Women's Championship for the second straight season while the Monmouth Men won their 18th straight title.
Jack Klobucar was the standout for the Buccaneers on Saturday, one of four Bucs earning All-MWC honors, by winning the 800m in 1:57.35. Klobucar is the first individual indoor champion for Beloit since Josh Davendonis won the same event in 2010.
Also earning AllConference honors for the Bucs were Aleeshah Heinzen, second in the Triple Jump; Dewight Walker, second in the Triple Jump; and Jose Gutierrez, third in the 60m Hurdles.
Getting points for the Buccaneers Saturday were Ellie Waddle, fourth in the 800m; Jason Dormon, fourth in the High Jump; Heinzen, sixth in the 60m; Dan Arkes, sixth in the 3000m; Linnae Capuder, seventh in the Pole Vault; Courtney Bingham, eighth in the 60m Hurdles; and Brenden Taylor, eighth in the Weight Throw.
The Men's Distance Medley Relay of Arkes, Jake Westrich, Charles Sandberg and Alberto Torres was fifth; the Women's Distance Medley Relay of Joanna Furlan, Sophia Miliotis, Melissa Pelkey and Emily Sneed and the Women's 4x400m Relay of Waddle, Pelkey, Miliotis and Heinzen were both sixth; and the Men's 4x400m Relay of Gutierrez, Dormon, Klobucar and Walker was seventh.
