Bucs Women, Men Both Second at Carroll Invite in Final Tuneup for MWC's

Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Track & Field team had plenty of contributors to their point total at the Carroll University May Invite Saturday.  Both the Women's and Men's teams finished second to the host school.

The Buccaneers earned seven first-place finishes at the meet:  Emma Koenig and Jacob Gray in the 1500m; Ellie Waddle in the 400m; Jose Gutierrez in the 110m Hurdles; Matt Kreiser in the Javelin; Brenden Taylor in the Shot Put; and the Men's 4x400m Relay.

Also scoring points with top-eight finishes for Beloit were: Dan Arkes, second in the 1500m; Aleeshah Heinzen, second in the 100m and Triple Jump and third in the Long Jump; Melissa Pelkey and Jack Klobucar second in the 800m; Natalie Dusek second in the 5000m; Linnae Capuder second in the Pole Vault; Taylor second in the Discus and sixth in the Hammer; Angie Earley, third in the 100m and eighth in the Long Jump; Dewight Walker, third in the Triple Jump and fourth in the Long Jump; Hannah Klehr, third in the Javelin; Dakotah Revai, third in the Javelin, third in the Shot Put and fourth in the Discuss and Hammer; Alberto Torres, fourth in the 1500m; Brian Alcorn, fourth in the 400m and seventh in the 1500m; Rebekah Evans, fourth in the Hammer and sixth in the Javelin; Michael Strawbridge, fourth in the Shot Put and sixth in both the Discus and Javelin.

Both the Women's and Men's 4x400m Relays also finished second.

Carl-Lars Engen was fifth in the 1500m; Jason Dormon, fifth in the 100m and sixth in the 200m; Caroline Murton and Sean Beckford, fifth in the 800m; Jourdan Plautz, fifth in the 200m; Audrey Summers, fifth in the Javelin; Jamie Manchen and Adam Beardsley, sixth in the 1500m; Katia Nonet, sixth in the 800m; Sophia Miliotis, sixth in the 200m; Medy Xu, sixth in the Long Jump; Jake Westrich, seventh in the Long Jump and eighth in the 200m; Brenden Endrina, eighth in the 100m; and Alex Villegas, eighth in the 800m.

The meet was the final tuneup for next weekend's Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships at Cornell College.  The Meet begins Friday at 12:30 p.m. and continues Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
