Platteville, WI -- The Beloit College Track & Field team continued their push to the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships with another good set of performances at the UW-Platteville Invite Saturday.
No team scores were kept.
Jacob Gray recorded the lone win of the meet for Beloit, breaking the tape first in the 3000m, while Ellie Waddle broke her own record, set back in January, with a 5:20.03 in the Mile, finishing fifth in the race.
Other top-eight finishes for the Buccaneers were turned in by Waddle, second in the 800m; Aleeshah Heinzen, second in the Long Jump; Emma Koenig, third in the 5000m; a third by the Women's 4x200m Relay of Angie Earley, Sophia Miliotis, Jourdan Plautz and Heinzen; a third by the Men's 4x200m Relay of Matt Kreiser, Jose Gutierrez, Jason Dormon and Jack Klobucar; George Gray, fourth in the 800m; Melissa Pelkey, fifth in the 800m; Gutierrez, fifth in the 60m Hurdles; and Heinzen, sixth in the Triple Jump.
The Buccaneers have their final tune-up for the MWC Championships when they travel to the UW-Oshkosh Invite next Saturday. Action begins at 11:00 a.m.
