Naperville, IL -- One runner completed her career in record style while two others had top-ten Midwest Conference efforts as the Beloit College Track & Field team closed out the season at the North Central College Gregory Final Qualifier on Thursday and Friday.
Karen Jones ran a Beloit record 18:05.20 in the 5000m on Thursday, breaking the record of 18:13.26 that teammate Emma Koenig set back on March 28 in the Outdoor season opener at Knox College. The record is the sixth for Jones, who also holds the 5K and 6K Cross Country marks, the 3000m and 5000m records Indoors and the 5000m and 10000m Outdoors standards.
Alberto Torres also ran the 5000m on Thursday, setting a personal-best with a 16:05.48, the ninth-fastest time in the MWC this season.
Darth Winkler competed in the Discus Thursday, advancing to finals and finishing ninth with a 136' 4" effort.
Friday night, George Gray ran the 800m in a personal-best 1:55.44, the fourth-fastest time in the MWC this season.
