Dubuque, IA -- The Beloit College Track & Field team competed at the University of Dubuque Invite on Saturday, with both the Women and Men earning sixth-place finishes in the team race.
The Buccaneer Women brought home two first-place individual finishes with Emma Koenig taking the 5000m and Sara DeLong the 3000m Steeplechase.
Other top-eight finishers for the Women were turned in by Maggie Cress, second in the 3000m Steeplechase; Ellie Waddle, third in the 1500m; Anna Wenzel, third in the 5000m; Mingyi Zhang, fourth in the 5000m; Rachel Monroe, sixth in the Long Jump; Angie Earley, seventh in the Long Jump; Cherrelle Phon, seventh in the Pole Vault; and Shujie Xu, eighth in the Long Jump.
The Women's 4x100m Relay of Earley, Monroe, Nadia Hecker-O'Brien and Jourdan Plautz was sixth while the 4x400m Relay of Hecker-O'Brien, Waddle, Koenig and Jada Viner was eighth.
Darth Winkler finished third in the Discus and Alberto Torres was third in the 3000m Steeplechase to pace the Men's squad.
Other top Men's finishers were George Gray, fourth in the 1500m; Matt Kreiser, fourth in the 400m Hurdles and sixth in the 110m Hurdles; Dewight Walker, fourth in the Triple Jump; and Forrest Lloyd, sixth in the 5000m.
The Men's 4x100m Relay of Kreiser, Walker, Gray and Sean Beckford finished seventh.
The Buccaneers now look forward to their lone home meet of the season, the Beloit Relays, which take place at Karris Track & Field at Strong Stadium next Friday and Saturday. Action begins Friday at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
