Buccaneer Indoor Track Uses Oshkosh Challenge as Final Tune-Up for MWC's

Oshkosh, WI -- The Beloit College Indoor Track & Field team used Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge as a final tune-up before next weekend's Midwest Conference Indoor Championships.

The Men's team finished fourth in the meet while the Women were fifth.

The Women's 4x400m Relay of Ellie Waddle, Nadia Hecker-O'Brien, Sara DeLong and Deja Parker had that team's top finish with a third.  Individually, Waddle was fourth in the 400m while Rachel Monroe was fourth in the Triple Jump.

Also earning points for the Women were Mingyi Zhang, fifth in the 3000m; Shujie Xu, fifth in the Long Jump; Emma Koenig, sixth in the 800m; DeLong, sixth in the Mile; Aurelia Hoft-March, sixth in the High Jump; and Hecker-O'Brien, eighth in the 400m.

The Men's 4x400m Relay of Matt Kreiser, Jordan Garcia, George Gray, and Simon Kafka finished second to lead the Men.  Individually, Kafka finished third in the 800m.

Also scoring points for the Men were Alberto Torres, fifth in the Mile; Dewight Walker, fifth in the Long Jump; Sean Beckford, sixth in the 800m; Gray, seventh in the 400m; Khusrav Mahkamov, seventh in the 3000m; Dakotah Revai, seventh in the Shot Put and Weight Throw; and Bellande Bertrand, eighth in the Weight Throw.

The MWC Indoor Championships, being held at Grinnell College, begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
