Bucs Track & Field Open Indoor Season; Gray Wins 800m

Whitewater, WI -- The Beloit College Track & Field team opened their Indoor season on Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Karl Schlender Invite.

Both the Women's and Men's teams finished fifth in the meet.

George Gray got his season off to a great start with a win in the 800m, missing the Beloit record by 2/100ths of a second with a 1:57.31.

Also earning points for the Buccaneers were the Men's 4x200m Relay team of Sean Beckford, Matt Kreiser, Bellande Bertrand and Crit Stanley finishing second; Karen Jones finishing third in the Mile; The Men's 4x400m Relay of Beckford, Gray, Kreiser and Simon Kafka finishing third; Ellie Waddle finishing fourth in the 800m; the Women's 4x200m Relay team of Angie Earley, Deja Parker, Jourdan Plautz and Jada Viner finishing fourth; and Kafka finishing sixth in the Mile.

Beloit competes at the Monmouth College Midwest Invite next Saturday.  Action begins at 10:45 a.m.
