Brown Deer, WI -- In the first week of competition, at the first meet of the season, two Buccaneers achieved new levels of success, setting two new school records.
In a non-scored meet for teams that included D3 institutions from across Wisconsin, as well as two D1 schools - UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay, the Buccaneers showed the grit and determination to be a force to be reckoned with this swim and dive season.
Junior Somer Stoffregen set a new Buc record in the 500 Free, a blistering 5:31.87 - that would be good for 9th against all competition.
Freshman Morgan Nicholson did not disappoint in her first official action as a Buccaneer, setting the 100 Free record for Beloit at 56.46. Nicholson would wrap that event placing 8th overall; the 2nd highest non-D1 swimmer in that event.
Next up for the Bucs is a meet in Chicago, as Beloit will travel to the Illinois Institute of Technology on October 28th. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
