Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team, under head coach Kevin Schober, had both the Women's and Men's teams recognized as the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its academic awards for the 2016 Fall semester.
A record 638 teams, representing 394 institutions, have been named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams. The awards are in recognition of teams’ that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Ninety-one additional teams and thirty-six more institutions achieved the honor compared to a year ago.
The Buccaneer Women's team had a 3.53 cumulative GPA to tie for 20th-highest with five other teams among NCAA Division III teams across the nation. They were one of six Midwest Conference Women's teams honored along with Knox (3.58), Ripon (3.54), Lawrence (3.47), Grinnell (3.45) and Lake Forest (3.32).
The Buccaneer Men had a 3.10 GPA, joining MWC teams Grinnell (3.38), Lake Forest (3.33), Knox (3.31) and Lawrence (3.01).
The Bucs continue their season this Saturday at the Wisconsin Private Schools Meet at Carthage College in Kenosha. Beloit's final home meet of the season will be on Saturday, February 4, vs. Knox.
