Chicago, IL -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team put up some good performances in their final competition before Finals and the Holidays at the Illinois Institute of Technology Ted Erikson Invite Saturday.
The Men's team finished third at the meet while the Women tied for fourth. The host school won both ends of the Invite.
Meshach Roberts led the way with two event wins, touching the wall first in both the 100 Back and 200 Back while helping both the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays to third place finishes.
Also getting points for the Men were Johnny Li, third in the 100 Breast and fifth in both the 200 Breast and 200 IM; Aaron Jolly, third in the 200 Fly and sixth in the 100 Fly; Joe Stephenson, third in the 50 and 100 Free; Tommy Silk, fourth in the 50 Free and fifth in the 100 Fly; and Karl Weiler, fourth in the 200 IM.
The third-place Men's 200 Medley Relay, in addition to Roberts, included Li, Silk and Stephenson while the 200 Free Relay also included Silk, Jolly and Stephenson.
Point-scorers for the Women included Amalia Dolan, third in the 1000 Free and fifth in the 200 Back; Katie Kennedy, fourth in the 100 Fly and fifth in the 100 Free; Al Nichols, fourth in the 200 Back; Emma Frothingham, fifth in the 200 Breast; Katrina Dwyer, sixth in the 100 Back; and Valley StipeMaas, sixth in the 200 Breast.
The Women's 200 Medley Relay of Dwyer, Frothingham, Kennedy and Nichols was fifth.
The Buccaneers are now off until they get back in the pool on Saturday, January 14, against UW-Oshkosh in Kresge Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
