Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team, under head coach Kevin Schober, had both the Women's and Men's teams recognized as the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its academic awards for the 2016 Spring semester.
A total of 658 teams were honored, from NCAA Division I thru NJCAA schools, just the second time in CSCAA's 30-plus year history of the program that more than 600 teams were recognized. The Team Scholar All-American Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once for the Fall semester and again in the Spring, to recognize teams achieving a 3.0 for the semester coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Buccaneer Women's team had a 3.54 cumulative GPA to rank in the top 30 Division III teams in the nation. They were one of seven Midwest Conference Women's teams honored along with Ripon (3.80), Lawrence (3.54), Grinnell (3.51), Knox (3.47), Lake Forest (3.22), and Monmouth (3.16).
The Buccaneer Men had a 3.14 GPA, joining MWC teams Grinnell (3.42), Knox (3.42), and Lake Forest (3.07).
