Back in the Home Pool, Buccaneer Men Sweep Triangular, Women Split

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team got back in the Kresge Natatorium pool Saturday for the first time since November 7 in a triangular meet with Illinois College and Loras College, and the results looked good.

The Men's team defeated Loras 90-80 and IC 93-78 while the Women defeated IC 105-68 but fell to Loras 111-74.

The Buccaneers recorded eight first-place finishes and six seconds on the day.

Joe Stephenson in the 50 and 100 Free and Meshach Roberts in the 200 Free and 200 Back both won twice.  Also recording firsts were Dana Olesch in the 200 Fly and Shaunte Moss in the 200 Breast.

The Women's 200 Medley Relay of Alyssa Nichols, Moss, Olesch and Alexandria Kohn and the Men's 200 Free Relay of Stephenson, Roberts, Johnny Li and Aaron Jolly both won their events.

Recording second-place finishes were Katrina Dwyer in the 1650 Free and 200 Breast; Moss in the 50 Free; Jolly in the 200 Fly; Nichols in the 500 Free; and Hannah Devereux in the 200 Breast.

The Buccaneers host Carroll University in a rare Wednesday night dual meet this Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
