Men 4th, Women 5th at Wisconsin Private Schools Meet

Kenosha, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team finished up their regular-season schedule Saturday at the Wisconsin Private Schools Meet, host by Carthage College.

The Buccaneer Men were fourth and the Women fifth in the team standings.

Will McAneny led the Men's team with three top-six finishes, taking third in the 100 Free, fourth in the 200 Free and sixth in the 50 Free.  Johnny Li was sixth in the 400 IM and Matt Sherrell eighth in the 500 Free.

For the Women, Shaunte Moss was second in the 100 Breast to lead the way while Dana Olesch was fourth in the 100 Fly and Amalia Dolan fifth in the 1650 Free.  Hannah Devereux finished seventh in the 1650 Free and eighth in the 200 Breast.

In the Relays, the Women's 400 Medley of Haleigh Thomas, Moss, Olesch and Anna Freyfogle was fourth; the Men's 400 Medley of Gavin Kratzke, Li, Austin Smith and McAneney was fifth; the Men's 200 Free of Spencer Moore, Smith, Li and Kratzke was sixth, as was the Men's 400 Free of Sherrell, Rutger Van Huber, Charles Spalding and Thomas Szamocki; the Women's 200 Free of Olesch, Freyfogle, Moss and Thomas was seventh; and the Women's 400 Free of Charlotte Mayeda, Trina Capelli, Alicia Hoffman and Heather Warner.

The Buccaneers are now off until the Midwest Conference Championships, which will be held at Grinnell College on Friday-Sunday, February 13-15.  Action begins at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
