Bucs Can't Find Shots At Lake Forest

October 5, 2017

Lake Forest, Ill. -- The Bucs could not find much on the offensive side of the ball this afternoon in Lake Forest, falling in an MWC match-up to the Foresters 2-1.

Beloit would finish the day with 3 total shots, compared to Lake Forest's 20. Leading the way for the Bucs was the ever present threat of junior midfielder Jose Gutierrez, who finished with 2 shots, and the only score of the night for Beloit.

Lake Forest would make quick work of getting on the scoreboard, as Elyas Ingram would knock one in past junior GK Jere Bauer at the 7 minute mark.

Gutierrez would not wait much longer to make his mark on the game, hitting stride and burying one behind the Forester GK at 31:10, off an assist from Sophomore Matt Alvero.

The rest of the half would be stalemated, as both teams defense's worked hard to stifle the other's shooters.

Coming out of the break was much of the same, as the ball would travel to both ends often, the result of the respective defenses nullifying any offensive threats. Lake Forest would score the game-winner late in the 2nd, as Isaac Odisho would put his first goal of the season past Bauer to seal the deal for Lake Forest just shy of the 83rd minute.

Junior GK Jere Bauer went the full 90 minutes in net for the Bucs, allowing 2 goals and making 9 saves. For the Foresters, Tero Elias would make 1 save, and allow 1 goal, in 90 minutes.

The Bucs have a short turnaround, as they are back home at Strong Stadium this Saturday, as they welcome MWC foe Ripon to Beloit. Match is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
